An ivory neoprene-and-leather dress with brown thigh boots and utility bag was a palette-cleansing reprieve from the colorblocking in much of the rest of the show.
You could sense this in the exuberant colors on the first dress: a saffron, orange and gray colorblocking number with cut outs on the shoulders and high slits.
Richard Chai made use of colorblocking as one of his themes, mixing a printed sky blue top with mint pants that have a bit of sheen to them, and layering a bright orange skirt over cream pants paired with a taupe sheer top.
Color-blocking remained big, though designers were experimenting with combining blocks of textures or patterns, such as fur with knits at Victoria Beckham and Alexander Wang and herringbone with glen plaid at Thom Browne and Tommy Hilfiger.
