Guernsey teammate Ollie Collas placed third in the Alexandra rifle competition after a tense tie-shoot at 600 yards with five other marksmen who had also scored maximum points.
Some at the seminar, including Mike Tidd, the chief operating officer of Collas Day, thought any change in the way the States of Guernsey govern the island was a long way off.
