In an interview Friday, the chief executives of the two companies that led the creation of the alliance described the collaboration as a matter of national importance.
More than 43 million Americans serve as unpaid caregivers for adults who are 50 and older (the age at which you can join AARP), and nearly one in four say they have a difficult time coordinating care, according to a 2009 study by the National Alliance for Caregiving in collaboration with AARP, which has some 40 million members.
The agreement builds on more than two years of collaboration between the organizations, in which WiGig Alliance developed the groundbreaking WiGig technology specifications including MAC-PHY and Protocol Adaptation Layers (PALs) and Wi-Fi Alliance initiated work to develop an interoperability certification for 60GHz products.
