He is alleged to have identified himself on an internet chatforum as a former Tribune Company employee and then provided members of Anonymous with the login and password to the Tribune Company server.
He said it would continue to offer a forum and chat service, but no new members would be allowed to join for the foreseeable future following the complaint.
Thousands of supporters of Anonymous were subsequently riled up IRC (chat) channels, Twitter and forum site 4chan to jump into coordinated DDoS attacks on these companies, temporarily paralyzing their websites.
