On Tuesday the government will launch its Climate Change Bill, which puts the government's long-term goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2050 into statute.
Also, the cleaner burning fuel reduces combustion byproducts over petroleum and diesel, cutting carbon monoxide emissions by an estimated 90%-97%, and nitrogen dioxide emissions by 35%-60%.
At current rates, forest clearance is set to release more than 34 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by 2050 -- the equivalent of the UK's total emissions for the past 60 years.
