He was from Defynnog near Brecon and served in the 1st Battalion, 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot on the south bank of the Buffaloriver in South Africa.
The verdict followed a four-week trial that included testimony from former and current employees of the plant along the Niagara River north of Buffalo.
Estimates at the Peace Bridge -- which crosses the Niagara River and connects Buffalo and Canada -- ranged up to 15 hours, according to the Ontario advisory.
