These guys are fabricated using the 28nm technology node, and are backwards compatible with previous generations of LTE and other wireless broadband standards, giving consumers using USB modems powered by the MDM9625 or MDM9225 chipsets an uninterrupted broadbanddata connection on nearly any network around the world.
The MDM9225 and MDM9625 chipsets are also the first to support LTE carrier aggregation and true LTE Category 4 with data rates of up to 150 Mbps and give network operators increased broadband speeds across their LTE service areas.
The carrier also is spending billions of dollars to build out a next-generation broadbandnetwork, using a technology called LTE, that can handle more wireless data traffic.
In Europe there is movement by the wireless broadband providers to charge the Netflixes of the world for the amount of data they put over the network in order to help operators pay for additional network build-out.
