On 3 December the Addicks confirmed that lifelong fan Murray had accepted a legally bindingoffer for the acquisition of Baton 2010, Charlton Athletic Football Company Limited and Charlton Athletic Holdings Limited from an investor group represented by Varney.
The proposal contained in this letter constitutes an indication of our interest in pursuing a transaction and does not constitute a bindingoffer, agreement or agreement to proceed with the transaction or to otherwise make a bindingoffer or agreement at any point in the future.
This is because an offer is not legally binding until contracts have been exchanged, usually about two months after an offer has been accepted (except in Scotland, where a verbal agreement commits both sides).
