"Anyone thinking about a luxury purchase will see deals like they've never seen before, " Beemer says.

"You always worry about what the levels need to be, and Wall Street punishes you if you're wrong, " Beemer says, adding that many retail firms have begun tying buyers' bonuses and promotions to their ability to avoid excess.
