The information collected from the beachcleanup will provide accessible data that will alert to what degree various waste-related activities take place along our beaches.
The Ministry of Defence has been given a deadline of next May to come up with a workable plan to cleanup the beach and prevent it becoming the first in the UK to be designated radioactive contaminated land.
"We don't do that in the UK and we don't advise that either, because you would be left with bits of whale over the beach which you've still got to cleanup, " said Mr Deaville.
