As prayers for the dead and injured were said at Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff, Archbishop of Wales BarryMorgan said the attacks had "shocked people from all religious communities and of none".
The event was organised by Tomorrow's Wales, the movement chaired by Archbishop of Wales BarryMorgan to support the implementation of the Richard Commission, which called for the assembly to have full law-making powers.
The Archbishop of Wales, Dr BarryMorgan, said he hoped Pope Francis would "bring an ecumenical perspective to the role, a desire to work with Christians of all traditions and a goodwill to people of all faiths".
