Suarez himself was at the center of a racism row earlier this year, receiving an eight-match ban after being found guilty by the FA of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
The FA regulatory commission which heard the case took into account Holloway's two-match touchline ban for improper conduct towards a match official at Blackpool's FA Cup third-round match against Ipswich in January.
The ban will, however, include United's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley on 16 April, as well as the Premier League games against Bolton, West Ham, Fulham and Everton.
Chelsea were incensed by Obi's dismissal in the first half for a challenge on Patrice Evra and contested it, but the FA rejected their appeal and his three-match ban was upheld.
Providing the FA confirm the player's three-match ban on Thursday , Adebayor will miss the encounter with United on Sunday, the Carling Cup tie with Fulham next Wednesday and a Premier League meeting with West Ham on September 28.
