The EU's main auditbody has criticised the way EU farm subsidies are allocated in Central and Eastern Europe, saying the recipients include estate agents, airports and hunting clubs.
Barclays' board has launched an audit of its business practices, which will be conducted by an independent body and report to the new deputy chairman, Sir Michael Rake.
"Following a thorough audit of the tendering and administration procedures used by Fair the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) uncovered major failures in the organisation's ability to adhere to the conditions associated with its funding allocation, " the statement read.
