"Wadjda, " which earlier premiered atthe Venice Film Festival and will be released this fall by Sony Pictures Classics, is about an independent-minded 10-year-old girl (Waad Mohammed) who chafes atthe deeply conservative Muslim society she and her mother (Reem Abdullah) struggle through.
Since 2004, the Collective has been the ensemble-in-residence at SFJAZZ, an organization which presents more than 200 concerts a year, including the San Francisco Jazz Festival in thefall and SFJAZZ in the spring.
