The five POWs -- members of the 507th Maintenance Company, based at Fort Bliss, Texas -- were interviewed in a video from Iraqi state-run television broadcast on Al-Jazeera, the Arabic-language satellite network based in Qatar.
Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, head of state in Qatar, launched Al Jazeera Arabic in 1996 by hiring a group of staffers from BBC's defunct Arabic service who had been kicked out of Saudi Arabia for airing an interview with Saudi dissidents.
