The advicefile submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service by the MPS (Metropolitan Police Service) has specifically asked for advice and guidance surrounding the future of the investigation in relation to potential criminal charges.
Niccolo Ghedini, a lawyer for three of the Marzotto members, said the family also had received legal advice that they need not file an Italian tax return.
Prosecutors say they found a memo showing that in 2008, the Marzotto family members sought the advice of a tax lawyer, who advised them to file an Italian tax return on the sale, which they didn't do.
