According to Canalys analysts, if Windows 8 is to be a success, Microsoft will have to subsidize at least some of the extra cost that touchscreen hardware will add to a new Windows 8 PC.
Cisco also says the new processor is fully programmable, allowing ISPs and corporations to add other edge computing services to the ASR-1000 without adding newhardware, and in some instances, allowing customers to get rid of hardware and cut costs.
