1977年毕业于原浙江医科大学，1983.04至1987.07以及赴联邦德国慕尼黑大学深造，获医学博士学位，同年回国。1992.10至1993.02于德国基尔大学，2000.10至2001.02于德国海德堡大学访问学者。1999-2009年任浙江大学医学部附属口腔医院（浙江省口腔医院）院长，浙江大学口腔医学院院长。
