黄椒，已有近300年的栽培历史。其株叶形与辣椒相近，果实成熟前青绿色，老熟果呈黄色、果实细长，约20-25cm，单果重5-10g，一般亩产鲜黄椒1200kg左右。黄椒果实外表及果肉黄色，肉厚、营养丰富，特别是含辣椒素多，辣味浓、辣得平和、均匀，风味独特。
蔬菜一般是西红柿、黄瓜和大个的黄椒等。
