鲁胜 生卒年待考。西晋学者。字叔时。代郡（今蔚县）人。 在春秋战国时期，百家争鸣，墨家学说以其鲜明的政治态度和学术思想而独树一帜，《韩非子》曰：“世之显学，儒、墨也。儒之所圣，孔丘也，墨之所圣，墨翟也。”墨家主张“兼爱”与“非攻”，受到了当时统治阶级的歧视，也成为儒家最大的反对派，所以在《史记》中没有给墨子立传。尤其是汉武帝“罢黜百家，独尊儒术”之后，墨子似乎就从思想界消失了，很少被人提起，直到晋朝的鲁胜才给墨家作注，并将其定名为《墨辩》。
