由高立导演，讲述了张珍为官宦之后，小时被许配给宰相金宠的女儿金牡丹。张珍之父早死，张珍上京投靠金宠，张珍向金宠提出婚事，金宠谓到张珍考取功名后，方会考虑他跟牡丹的婚事。事实金宠嫌贫爱富，牡丹亦过惯奢华的生活，无意嫁给既贫穷又无功名的张珍。张珍住在湖边书斋苦读，因挂念美丽的牡丹，每日对着湖水吟诗，湖中修炼千年之鲤鱼精深受张珍的诗词感动，乃变成牡丹模样与张珍相恋。
