颞骨（temporal bone），颞骨temporalbone是成对的脑颅骨之一。 属于颅骨中的脑颅骨，共两块，左右各一。位于头颅两侧，并延至颅底，参与构成颅底和颅腔的侧部，形状不规则。以外耳门为中心可分为颞鳞、鼓部和岩部3部分。岩部又可分为岩部、乳突部、茎突，故颞骨又可由鳞部、鼓部、岩部、乳突部、茎突5部分组成。颞骨嵌于蝶骨、顶骨和枕骨之间，参与组成颅中窝与颅后窝，与大脑及颅内的许多重要神经血管关系密切。
高分辨率的CT检查也能用于检查颞骨是否开裂。
