非线性负荷(distortion load)是指具有非线性阻抗特性的用电设备从电力系统吸取的功率。具有非线性阻抗特性的用电设备,其阻抗随外施电压或电流的变化而变化,或者说其阻抗是电压或电流的函数。当向这类设备外施正弦波形的电压时,它将从电力系统吸取非正弦波形的电流,当向这类设备通以正弦波形的电流时,其受电端上即形成非正弦波形的电压。因此,非线性负荷最大特点是会引起电力系统电压或电流正弦波形的畸变。
