集中核算是指企业或单位的主要会计工作集中在会计部门进行的一种组织形式。在这种形式下，企业内部各单位一般不进行单独核算，而只是对所发生的经济业务进行原始记录，办理原始凭证手 续，并对原始凭证进行适当的汇总，定期将原始凭证和原始凭证汇总表送交财务会计部门，原始凭证或原始凭证汇总表由会计部门审核，然后据以填制记帐凭证，登记总分类帐和明细分类帐，编制会计报表。实行集中核算可以减少核算层次，精简会计人员。
