陕北能源化工基地是陕西省将加快建设四大基地之一，这个基地将利用陕北丰富的煤炭、石油、天然气等资源，按照“煤向电力转化，煤电向载能产品转化，煤油气盐向化工产品转化”的思路，尽快形成1000万吨采油、1000万吨炼油、100亿立方米天然气、1亿吨原煤、300万吨煤制油和300万吨煤制甲醇的生产能力，把陕北建设成为我国重要的煤油气生产基地、“西电东送”煤电基地和以甲醇为龙头的煤化工基地。
