释迦像指雕画释迦牟尼佛之身像。即思慕释尊人格之伟大而雕画供奉其像。释迦像之造立，据增一阿含经卷二十八、观佛三昧海经卷六等载，佛世时，优填王、波斯匿王均曾为佛陀以纯金铸像，然此等记载恐系后世之传说。盖未有佛像以前，印度一般以轮、菩提树、舍利塔等象征佛陀及本生谭图，至西历纪元前后，印度犍陀罗地方始出现各种姿态之释迦佛像，有两手交合之思惟像、右手结触地印之降魔像、两手于胸前结转轮印之说法像等。上述皆为坐像。佛传中最常见者为诞生佛与涅盘像，另有苦行释迦、出山释迦等，画题极为丰富
主像释迦牟尼像， 高鼻大眼、体态端祥， 是北魏中期石雕艺术的杰作。
