酃（líng）县，春秋战国时为庞邑，为楚南重镇、中国最古老的郡县之一，是钟武侯国、湘东王国、湘州、湘东郡行政中心。汉高祖五年（公元前202年）置，治所在今衡阳市珠晖区酃湖乡。为衡阳市城建发源地之一，西汉时为钟武侯国都城，东汉末年至隋朝为湘东郡治，辖今衡阳市区、衡南县、衡东县、攸县、安仁县、茶陵县、炎陵县、株洲县南部、永兴县东北部一带。
地方武装，除酃县外，各县都有了少数。
