速度水头，又称流速水头。即流体运动速度的平方与两倍的重力加速度的比值。其几何意义为元流过流断面上单位重量流体所具有的流速高度，相当于不计射流自重和空气阻力情况下，流体以速度垂直向上喷射到空气中时所能达到的高度。其物理意义为元流过流断面上单位重量流体所具有的动能。
