适应障碍是指在明显的生活改变或环境变化时所产生的短期和轻度的烦恼状态和情绪失调，常有一定程度的行为变化等，但并不出现精神病性症状。典型的生活事件有：居丧、离婚、失业或变换岗位、迁居、转学、患重病、经济危机、退休等，发病往往与生活事件的严重程度、个体的心理素质、心理应对方式、来自家庭和社会的支持等因素有关。
