袁淑（公元408年至453年），字阳源，陈郡阳夏人，袁豹之少子。生于晋安帝义熙四年，卒于宋文帝元嘉三十年，年四十六岁。少有风气。年十余岁，为姑夫王弘所赏。不为章句之学，而博涉多通。好属文，辞采遒丽，纵横有才辩。彭城王义康命为军司祭酒刘港欲其附己淑不为改意，因以疾免官。临川王义庆雅好文学，请为谘议参军。元嘉二十六年，为尚书吏部郎。累迁太子左卫率。元凶劭将为逆，淑不从，被害。孝建初，谥忠宪。淑著有文集十卷（《隋书志》作十一卷。此从隋志注及《两唐书志》）行于世。
