治疗学术语。系八法之一。又称补益、补养、补虚。指用补益药物补养人体气血阴阳不足，改善衰弱状态，治疗各种虚证的方法。虚证有气虚、血虚、阴虚、阳虚之不同，补法相应分为补气、补血、补阴、补阳四类。根据病情急缓和体质虚弱程度，又可分峻补与缓补。《素问·至真要大论》：“虚者补之”，“损者益之”。《素问·阴阳应象大论》：“形不足者，温之以气；精不足者，补之以味。”
