蓄水构造是从水文地质学观点研究地质构造得出的概念，由含水层和隔水层相互结合而形成的能够积蓄地下水的地质构造。 目前已把这个概念运用在基岩山区。而在松散岩层地区对蓄水构造的归纳和研究尚不成熟。在坚硬岩层分布区，主要有单斜蓄水构造、背斜蓄水构造、向斜蓄水构造、断裂型蓄水构造、侵入接触型蓄水构造、岩溶型蓄水构造等。在松散沉积物分布区，也有人根据沉积物的成因类型及其空间分布特征和水源条件划分出：山前冲洪积型蓄水构造、河谷冲积型蓄水构造、湖盆沉积型蓄水构造、冰川沉积型蓄水构造等。
