古县名。春秋吴艾邑，西汉置县。治所在今江西修水县西。属豫章郡。隋开皇九年（公元589年）废入建昌。新莽建立（公元9年）。艾县改为治瀚。汉光武帝复国（公元25年）仍复原名。南朝陈武帝永定三年（公元559年）属豫宁郡。隋开皇九年（589）并入建昌县。
