所谓良性脑瘤是指生长在颅内某一部位（多在脑神经组织外），组织分化良好，生长缓慢，多能根治的肿瘤。如脑膜瘤、垂体腺瘤、胚胎残余性肿瘤及血管肿瘤等。
在平均跟踪了8.5年以后，343人被诊断出患有脑胶质瘤，另外245人患另一种被称作脑膜瘤的良性脑瘤。
