自动重合闸（automatic reclosing switch）断路器因某种故障原因分闸后，利用机械装置或继电自动装置使其自动重新合闸的设施。如电力系统发生的故障是暂时性的，经继电保护装置使断路器跳闸切断电源后，经预定时间再使其自动重合，如故障已自动消除，线路即重新恢复供电；如故障是持续性的，则断路器再次被跳闸，不再重合。按重合次数，分一次重合闸和多次重合闸；按相数，分三相和单相自动重合闸；按使用场合，分单侧电源和双侧电源自动重合闸。
