胶凝材料，又称胶结料。在物理、化学作用下，能从浆体变成坚固的石状体，并能胶结其他物料，制成有一定机械强度的复合固体的物质。土木工程材料中，凡是经过一系列物理、化学变化能将散粒状或块状材料粘结成整体的材料，统称为胶凝材料。胶凝材料是指通过自身的物理化学作用，由可塑性浆体变为坚硬石状体的过程中，能将散粒或块状材料粘结成为整体的材料，亦称为胶结材料。
