胆泥属胆结石的一种，为泥沙样的结石，其性质为胆色素。胆固醇结晶、含钙的胆色素小颗粒、炎症和出血，在充满液体的腔内，如囊肿和胆囊，均可为引起反射的物质，胆囊内上述反射物质称之为“胆泥”。 胆泥是盐卤矿经离子交换生成。白色或乳白色晶体状粉末，主要由90%以上的硫酸钙和4%～8%的硫酸锶构成，杂质含量小于2.5%。其含硫≥20%，钙21%～22%，锶2%～4%，几乎不含重金属等有毒有害元素。
