耐火度又称耐熔度。表征物体抵抗高温而不熔化的性能指标。耐火度不是物质的物理常数，而是一个技术指标，它的高低由物料的化学组成、分散度、液相在其中所占比例以及液相黏度等所决定。耐火度的测定方法是：将试验物料做成规定尺寸的截头三角锥，在一定的升温速度下加热时，由于本身的重量而逐渐弯倒，试锥弯倒至其顶端与底盘接触时的温度即试验物料的耐火度。
