结缕草属，禾本科，约10种，分布于亚洲和大洋洲，我国有结缕草Z. japonica Steud. 、太穗结缕草Z. macrostachya Franch. et sav. 等5种，为很好的固沙保土植物。细叶结缕草Z. tenuifolia Willd. ex Trin.不易抽穗，叶纤细而柔软，色泽鲜绿，生长繁茂，是较理想的草坪植物。多年生草本，有匍匐根茎，叶短而窄狭；总状花序穗形，小穗紧贴穗轴，内含1小花，脱节于颖之下；第一颖缺，第二颖包围着膜质的外稃；雄蕊3；果与稃离生。
