结构功能主义是指侧重对社会系统的制度性结构进行功能分析的社会学理论。形成于第二次世界大战后。主要代表为美国的帕森斯、默顿等。由社会有机体论和早期功能主义发展而来,主张用功能分析方法认识和说明整个社会体系和社会制度之间的关系。认为社会生活之所以能维持下去,是因为社会找到了一种手段(结构)去满足人类的需要(功能)。其最重要的理论是社会均衡论。
