细菌病毒（bacterial virus）是以细菌为宿主的病毒。又称噬菌体（Phage），由F·W·特沃特于1915年和F· H·德埃雷尔于1917年分别发现。 噬菌体一名是由后者确定的，Phage意为细菌的噬食者。这类病毒与动物或植物病毒具有共同的基本特性。分为10科，其中肌病毒科，如T2、T4噬菌体等；长尾病毒科，如λ、T5噬菌体等；短尾病毒科，如T7、P22噬菌体等。
