精读是以掌握阅读方法、发展阅读能力、理解文章内容、积累知识为目的的读书方法。即精细深入的阅读。要求“字求其训，句索其旨。未得乎前，则不敢求乎后；未通乎此，则不敢志乎彼”。把字字句句读明白，达到“使其言皆若出于吾之口”，“使其意皆若出于吾之心”（朱熹）的融会贯通的理解水平。对文章的语言、结构、内容、写作方法等，进行细琢细磨的研读，经过努力钻研，从困勉达到理解。
