章安街道地处台州市椒江北岸，东邻前所街道，南与椒江城区隔江相望，西与临海市涌泉镇相接，北接临海市溪口乡，街道办事处驻地华景村，距区政府驻地5公里。全街道下辖40个行政村，82个自然村，地域面积62.9平方公里，人口7800万。地理位置优越，交通便捷，椒江大桥横跨南北，省道“83”线穿境而过，75省道复线即将动工兴建，规划中的台缙高速公路东延段的入口处，是椒江区面积最大，人口最多的街道。章安历史悠久，东汉时由回浦改为章安，东汉至唐朝一直是台州政治、经济文化中心，宋朝改为保乐乡，清代设浦章镇，民国时称章安乡，建国后建区属临海县，1984年改设椒江市章安区，1992年并梓林、杨司两乡入章安镇，2001年和黄礁乡合并成为章安街道。而成丰富的土地资源、人力资源和以古郡文化为代表的特色旅游资源，充分显示了其巨大的发展潜力。
