突触前膜即突触前成分相对应的胞膜。神经元轴突末梢的分支膨大构成突触小体,突触小体膜称为突触前膜。兴奋时,突触小泡与突触前膜融合,释放神经递质。突触前膜与突触间隙、突触后膜组成突触。兴奋在两个神经元之间传递时单向的的原因:由于神经递质只存在于突触前膜的突触小泡中,只能由突触前膜释放,然后作用于突触后膜上,因此神经元之间兴奋的传递只能是单方向的。
