当司机将制动阀移到推动位时,制动主管内的压缩空气向大气排出一部分,这时副风缸内的空气压力相对地大于制动主管内的压力,因而推动三通阀的主活塞向左移动,截断充气沟的通路,使副风缸内的压缩空气不能回流。在三通阀主活塞移动的同时带动滑阀也向左移动,截断了通向大气的出口,使副风缸内的压缩空气进入制动缸,推动制动缸鞲鞴向右移动,通过制动杆的传动,使闸瓦紧抱车轮而制动。
