磁黄铁矿是磁黄铁矿族中的一种铁的硫化矿物，它的成分中含有硫达40%，因此可以用来制作硫酸。而当其中的镍含量很高时，便可从中提炼镍。磁黄铁矿有金属般的光泽，为暗青铜黄色带红。一般呈块状产于铜镍硫化矿床中。磁黄铁矿如果在地表则容易风化而变成褐铁矿。
