磁性铁（magnetic iron）是指强磁性铁矿物中的铁，可缩写为mFe。在地质勘查中，铁矿中磁性铁占全铁的占有率，是评价铁矿床工业价值和划分矿石工业类型的标准。
1983年前工业技术指标是按全铁(TF)品位划分的,1983年后马鞍山矿山研究院对峨口铁矿矿石工业指标进行了研究,推荐采用磁性铁(Mfe)作为划分峨口铁矿矿石工业指标的标准,确定边界品位10%、工业指标30%。
