知识资产是知识经济时代企业赖以生存和发展的显性知识和隐性知识的价值总和。它本身不具有独立实体形态，依赖于一定载体而存在，在一定时期内能为企业带来经济利益。 可分为四类：（1）市场资产，是企业拥有的与市场相关的无形资产潜力，包括各种品牌、客户的信赖、长期客户、销售渠道、专利授予合同协议等。（2）知识产权资产。（3）人力资产，指群体技能、创造力、解决问题的能力、领导能力、企业管理机制。（4）基础结构资产，指使企业得以运行的技术、工作方式和程序。
