癌前疾病是疾病在癌变前的临床状态，是指具有明显癌变危险的某些疾病，如慢性萎缩性胃炎尤其伴肠上皮化生和间变、乳腺囊性乳腺病、乳腺小叶及腺上皮增生囊性变、多发性家族性结肠息肉病、口腔黏膜白斑、宫颈柱状上皮异位修复中鳞状上皮增生、着色性干皮病等。须指出的是，并不是所有的癌前疾病都会发展为癌，还要取决于许多其他因素。此外，通常由癌前疾病形成癌也有一个演进过程。癌前疾病的及时发现和及时治疗对于防止其发展成为癌症是十分重要的，患者必须要重视。
