运用摄影机、镜头、胶片把客观事物及其运动记录下来的过程。电影摄影基于视觉暂留原理，通过摄影机内部的间歇机构将连续的运动分解为一系列静止画面，再通过放映机的运转将这一系列静止影像连续呈现出来，从而再现运动的幻觉。
